What we collect

Your account (name, email, and a password hash — or your Google or Apple sign-in). Your bins, item lists, and the photos you take of them. And, only if you allow location access, where a bin sticker was scanned so you can find that bin on a map later.

How photos are protected

Every photo is encrypted with AES-256 before it is stored. The files on our storage are unreadable without keys that are only handed to signed-in members of your household — a leaked or shared link shows nothing. GPS data is stripped from every photo before storage, always.

AI features

AI tagging is off by default. If you opt in and tap Analyze, that one photo is sent to Anthropic (Claude) to suggest a list of the items it sees, and you approve or edit the list before anything is saved. Anthropic does not use your photos to train models and does not keep them. You can revoke AI access any time in Settings.

Sharing

People you invite to your household can see and add to that household’s bins. Removing a member ends their access immediately.

Deletion

Deleting a photo or a bin destroys the encrypted files and their keys. For full account deletion during early access, email hi@mybinio.com and we will complete it the same day, by hand, until the self-serve button ships.

What we don’t do

• We don’t sell your data. To anyone. Ever.
• No ad pixels or third-party trackers on the dashboard — we don’t sell ads, so we don’t need data brokers.
• Your photos are used for exactly one thing: showing them back to you.
